About the project

Capital Placement is a global internship platform that helps students and recent graduates gain real-world work experience while providing companies with a practical way to identify and hire promising talent. The platform uses clear data displays and an easy-to-navigate design to simplify key steps like candidate screening, interview scheduling, and onboarding. By bringing together information from different sources, it offers employers timely insights into candidate profiles, allowing for more thoughtful and efficient hiring decisions.

Project goals

  • Design a seamless, intuitive platform that simplifies internship recruitment for both candidates and employers.
  • Integrate real-time data visualization tools to provide actionable insights for data-driven hiring decisions.
  • Streamline candidate and client interactions with robust UI components, including interview scheduling and video recording features.

Achievements

  • Created custom data visualization tools enabling real-time, data-driven hiring decisions and significantly reducing decision-making time.
  • Collaborated with UX/UI designers and backend developers to enhance interface usability and streamline the overall hiring process.
  • Incorporated advanced UI components; such as interview scheduling and video recording to improve candidate engagement.
  • Reworked the client onboarding process, boosting user engagement and reducing drop-offs.
  • Architected scalable front-end solutions using React, TypeScript, and REST API, improving performance by 25% and ensuring smooth backend integration.

Challenges encountered

Building Capital Placement required balancing complex UI/UX demands with real-time data processing and seamless backend integration. Managing cross-functional collaboration between designers, developers, and stakeholders across different time zones added further complexity.

Solutions

The team adopted agile methodologies with daily SCRUM meetings and leveraged industry-standard tools and third-party libraries. This approach enabled the rapid development of a robust, scalable front-end that delivered real-time insights and efficient user workflows.

Lessons learnt

The project showed the importance of cross-functional collaboration and iterative design. Early user feedback led to refinements that enhanced usability and performance, proving that close cooperation between designers and developers is key to creating an effective digital hiring platform.
